Here at Church on the Drive, we believe spiritual growth happens best in the environment of encouraging relationships where people are dedicated to God’s purposes and committed to one another’s spiritual growth.
What is a Community Group?
Have you ever heard of a small group? What about a Sunday School class? Our Community Groups are like those! Joining a community group puts you in an environment where people support you as you seek to honor Jesus. We believe life is better when you live in community.
Our hope is that everyone in our church and even those who struggle to make it Sundays will find a place in one of our Community Groups. There are group options available for Singles, Young Married, Parents, Grandparents, and more. Visit our Group Link Page to find a place to plug in!
Frequently Asked Questions
IS CHILDCARE PROVIDED?
While some groups offer childcare, we have scheduled our Children’s ministry (birth – 5th grade) to meet on Wednesday night and our student ministry (6th – 12th grade) to meet on Sunday nights. Many of our Com Groups meet at the same time as their kids are involved in their respective ministry.
Groups that meet at times other than on Sunday nights make their own decisions regarding childcare.
TIME AND LOCATION?
While most Groups meet on Sunday mornings between 9:00 and 10:00am, a few meet during the week. Groups either meet in member’s homes or at the church.
Our Group Link Page has details on the day, time, and location of each group.
WHERE DO GROUPS MEET?
When you visit our Group Link Page, you can locate groups using different selection criteria. At COTD, people sometimes pick groups based on location but more often by relationship and affinity.
WHAT WILL MY GROUP STUDY?
Groups normally meet for a time of refreshments, a time of prayer, and a study that uses the Sunday morning sermon as a spring board for further discussion and reflection.
